Process

A streamlined production process

The design of the 140 family rooms, which provide a total of 644 beds for guests of all ages, is anything but standard. Expect round shapes, different color themes, dioramas, and bunk beds. The challenge was to produce high-quality specials on a large scale. Thanks to smart engineering and a tightly controlled production process, the quality of each room remained top-notch. At the same time, there was still room for the custom details that the design required. This enabled us to translate the architect's vision into a manageable project.

Introduction

Efteling in Kaatsheuvel is a well-known destination in Europe. In addition to the Efteling Hotel and holiday parks, the Efteling Grand Hotel is now being added. Architects Heinzel de Vries designed the hotel with rich materials and powerful, recognizable shapes in mind. We were tasked with translating that creative vision into a top-quality interior. This luxury hotel is located within the park gates and offers direct access to all attractions.

Public spaces

Bringing public spaces to life

The public spaces, including the magical entrance lobby, the Sense Hotel boutique, the spa with a swimming pool and sauna, and the Mystique and Brasserie 7 restaurants, required customization on a different scale with a different dynamic. We translated the design of the brass welcome desk, round coffee bar, and bars directly and tailored them for intensive use and safety.

Control over design and implementation

Even before implementation, more than two years ago, we were sitting down with designers and project managers. Working together, we translated the design into an implementation plan that fit within the budget. Physical test setups of the custom-made furniture brought the design to life early on.
